ABOUT THE VOTER GUIDE
What is the purpose of the Voter Guide?

The guide is intended to be a non-partisan resource providing a central location for information about local candidates so that our community can be engaged and informed on Voting Day.

This guide includes candidates' bios, photos, and responses to select questions, which were provided by each candidate. This site does not have exhaustive information about candidates. Please do additional research, attend Budget & Candidates Night, and reach out to candidates directly to find out more.

Learn more about Town Meeting Cycle events and ballot items on the Town of Hartford Website.

How was candidates' information sourced?

-
Outreach to the community was conducted via the Hartford listserv, Town & School newsletters and social media, and other local newsletters to request questions for Selectboard and School Board candidates.
-
The Town & School Meeting Committee reviewed the types of questions that community members cited most frequently to form a brief list of questions for the guide.
-
Each candidate was emailed with a request to submit:
-
Their bio and photo.
-
Their answers to the questions (Selectboard and School Board candidates only).
-
-
Candidates' answers were not edited by anyone other than the candidate.
Who created the Voter Guide?

As part of its work to engage the community in the Town Meeting Cycle, the Town & School Meeting Committee organized and created this resource. Committee members are Hartford residents Becky Chollet, Jason Hill, Kim Souza, and Ally Tufenkjian.

The guide was not influenced by the Town and School District Staff, Selectboard, School Board, or any particular candidate.
